Award winning Mustards and Chutneys

Who we are
Montys – Mustards and Chutneys. Set up in 2017 by Sarah and Edward Savage, Montys began production of it’s hugely popular range of both smooth and wholegrain Mustards in their purpose built mustard kitchen. With everything being made by hand and after the announcement of the closure of the Colmans site in Norwich, the local shops and Delis were quick to notice the opportunity for both them and for the local communities to have a high quality Norfolk Mustard Maker right on their door step. It’s this fantastic support that has allowed Montys to grow and develop and to become the largest independent Mustard manufacturer in the East of England. It was only a short year later before the East of England CO-OP joined the movement of having a Norfolk Mustard for the Norfolk people readily available, with it not being long before Montys (along with Essence) winning the EAT Norfolk Food and Drink Pride of Norfolk award. This alongside 24 other like minded Norfolk food and drink manufacturers skipped across to Holland for the Horecava international trade fair to showcase the brilliant products that Norfolk has in abundance. With exciting plans for the future, this year is likely to hold a few twists and turns but whatever happens Montys will always cut the Mustard!
Why we do what we do
We believe that food is about people and passion. This is why every jar that comes out of our kitchen is made by people for people. You will not find bulkers or fillers and you definitely won’t get an underfilled jar. We use whole ingredients that are locally sourced where possible to create what we think is the best Mustard available. Mustard is also hugely important to Norfolk, it is literally part of the land around us. This is why when Unilever announced that they were closing the Colmans plant in Norwich, there was absolute uproar. It is a story that has been covered extensively and one that has left the Norfolk community suffering. This situation alone highlights the unbreakable bond between people and food, showing that we are proud of our heritage in Norfolk. We are striving to be there for the community and hopefully by the end of this year we will be giving everybody something to shout about.
Where we do what we do
All of our handcrafted products are made at the Old Dairy in Stanfield. This is our new site for everything foody. It is both a Café and our site of production with both set apart by a big glass wall. This means that you can sit with a coffee, having a natter with your friends whilst still being able to see Edward wrestling with a spatula. If your heading along the B1145 then you are sure to come across us. There’s a Shop on site as well which stocks all the products from all three brands with the odd random concoction thrown in.
Where to get our Mustards and Chutneys
You will find all of the products in our Montys range on our website under the SHOP section in the top menu or directly above. If you live closely enough then we happily welcome you to see our mad world but if it’s too far and you want a stockist closer to you then don’t hesitate to contact us and we can give you an up to date list of shops closest to you, so that you don’t miss out.
